Thanks for visiting! If you're new here, you may want to receive FREE daily updates to our Posts. So you won't miss a single article we write about technology!

Google is planning to offer free office as microsoft prepares to release its version of update windows and office software. The search engine company Google appears to be making towards releasingsoftware that tries to rival Microsoft’s well established and highly profitable offerings, such as Microsoft Office. The difference is that google one is a free version.

Google is planning to include its search toolbar with it and is called OpenOffice. You can download it from here! Google has a long way to go to dent Microsoft’s might in an admission the world is changing.

Enjoy!

Update: People are misunderstanding so i will try to make it clear, what i am trying to say here is that google is partnering up with OpenOffice  which is said to be a product of Sun to promote the product.

Open Office is owned by Sun…and has been around for a long time. Google offers Google docs, not Open Office!

oops hit the enter button, dang twitchy finger. What this article should mention is that Google and Open Office are looking to partner up. Google getting the word out and helping with distribution of Open Office and in turn the Google tool bar gets added into Sun’s Office Suite.

@Deke - Yup, you were right but Sun has partnered up with Google mainly due to its popularity and lets not forget it is a search engine and can promote things very easily!

Get your facts straight. Partnering isn’t the same as offering.

lol you are funny! Partnering is not the same as offering that is true but If you have a bit of knowledge you should know by now that when a company partners up with another company it is also accepting to offer their product due to a partnership. Hope i make sense!

Thanks for the comment anyway! :-)
