After a recent technological overhaul the Cray XT Jaguar is now powered by 45,000 quad-core AMD Opteron processors that use 362 Terabytes of memory (362000 gigabytes).

The Cray XT Jaguar is located at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory where it will hopefully create scientific breakthroughs during the day, and succumb to Crysis at night. It will be used for non classified research and has the capability to chew up an enormous 284 gigabytes of data per second. And its storage capacity is 750 terabytes!

Yes, that’s right. It is much earlier than expected, the software update for the iPhone’s Operating Systems is only ten more days away. According to the reliable source “iPhone Hellas”. So sometime on the 21st of November. I think there is much anticipation leading to this update as so many iPhone users have been asking Apple to include the “Copy and Paste” feature in the new Software. Will apple listen to its customers? The update will also come with all the features that were available in the BETA version of 2.2.

You can never predict what Apple comes up with these days. They could release some sort of last minute surprise that will be included in the OS update. As last time (iPhone OS 2.2 beta 2) there were some major additions. I suppose only time will tell, only ten more days to wait! Hopefully we will see some cool new features with better stability included in this OS update.

We are writing this to apologize for the downtime experienced while accessing Teckitech between 28/10/2008 from 6:00 pm NZ time to 30/10/2008 5:00pm NZ time. This is due a plugin we installed recently called Stealth Plugin. We are not saying that the plugin is dangerous to use but rather that it didnot work out for Teckitech. The plugin replicated the .htaccess code many time over to generate a 500 Internal Server Error. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I don’t know what it is with me and tall buildings. But this one especially amazes me. There is no name yet for this city-in-a-skyscraper. But what we do know is that it is going to be approximately 8184 Ft tall (2447 Meters!!) and it will be built in Dubai - Jumeirah City. This city-in-a-skyscraper will consume 37,000 megawatts per hour per year, with a 15MWH peak usage, but as the plans show, it has been designed to generate most of it using wind, thermal, and solar power. It has the environment in mind.

Dubai’s current architectural marvel the 3,280 feet-high 200-floor Nakheel Tower (still under construction) is nothing compared to this! The building is so tall that its main elevator is in fact a vertical 125mph bullet train. Personally I do think it looks breathtaking. Everything cool is being built in Dubai at the moment. I need to save up so I can go there for a holiday~

I have just browsed through this site called Webhostingpal and thought it was very useful in providing the information about web hosting companies. Named the “Nakheel Tower” or the Al Burj, this enormous megastructure will stand approximately 4,593 ft. Thats 1.4 kilometres high!! It is to be built on the Dubai Skyline and will have 100 floors, making it the the tallest man made structure ever built. Wouldn’t it be cool to live on the top floor!

When constructed (date has yet to be released), the tower would be planted at the Dubai Waterfront and will be a combination of offices and apartments.. This sky scraper will rival the Burj Dubai which currently stands at 707m (2,320 ft) and its still under construction. This is a proprosed picture of what the Al Burj may look like:

If it is built, I think it would be a true marvel of human engineering and will show us that we can literally build anything if we put our minds together and do it!
