When you first buy a Mac, you know how bright the screen looks than normal desktops. Having this type of brightness affects your eyes by putting more strain on them. It is very easy to just control this brightness, one way of doing it is by pressing the keys on top left (See the image below!)

Another way of doing this is by opening your system preferences which can be accessible by clicking the apple button on top-left corner and selecting system preferences.

So basically it all comes down to how willing and supportive the iPhone app developers are. GeekBrief has also made a  demo of the copy/paste functionality being used within some original iPhone apps.

The OpenClip framework does not violate the iPhone SDK Agreement in any way so users don’t need to worry about getting busted by Apple. The best of all is that the OpenClip framework is non-profit and open source.

For those of you who are familiar with windows would tried to right click eventually but it would turn out to be a left click on Mac. If you bought a new mac, i suggest that you follow these steps to make your mac “Right clickable”.

To right click on any Mac without changing any configuration:

1. Click “crtl+Mouse button”
2. A right click menu should pop up

To enable right click on an Apple desktop with an Apple mouse connected:

1. Go to “System Preferences”
2. Click “Keyboard & Mouse” as you see in the screenshot below



3. Click the “Mouse” tab
4. A picture of the mouse will show up. Click the drop down menu on the right hand side and select “Secondary Button”



5. Now whenever you click on the right hand side of the mouse, a right click menu will appear

To enable right click on newer Apple laptops:

1. Go to “System Preferences”
2. Click “Keyboard & Mouse”



3. Click the “Trackpad” tab
4. Click the checkbox “For secondary clicks, place two fingers on the trackpad then click the button” (See screenshot below)
5. Now whenever you have two fingers on the trackpad and click the mouse button, a right click menu will appear

This is a tutorial for disabling apple remote control. This is a problem mainly if you have two macs and you want to control the pause, play and adjust volume on one mac and not to be in conflict with the other.

To disable the remote control:

1. Open “System Prefences”
2. Click “Security”
3. Check the box “Disable remote control infrared receiver”

Gmail has added a security feature which i observed recently which you wouldn’t find in most of the free email service providers like Gmail. It is the ability to use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) or more simply a Secure Connection.

Secure connection makes sure that the data and information shared between Google servers and your web browser remains encrypted throughout the transfer. It proves to be beneficial when using Gmail in public sector area e.g. public WiFi hotspots or college/university labs.

Previously the only way to initiate a Secure connection between Gmail and your web browser was to manually type the (https://) protocol instead of (http://) to access Gmail but as it is not feasible for the unaware masses, Gmail has now introduced a new setting called Browser Connection.

Browser Connection lets users choose whether or not to force a secure connection. This way they won’t have to type in the (https://) protocol again and again while accessing Gmail.

Please note that though forcing a secure connection makes your data safe, but it slows down the speed and latency of your connection as it has to always encrpt/decrypt data at both ends while transfering. This feature is mostly recommended for users accessing Internet through a public WiFi.
