The yet to be released AMD Phenom II X4 processor has an incredible overclocking capability. On air cooling alone the Phenom II was able to reach around 4Ghz at 1.55V at a temperature of around 32ºC. Then a water cooled model at 1.6V was able to break the 4Ghz limit. It was able to reach 4.4Ghz using a vapochill setup which reached temperatures of around 39ºC. Then with the LN2 setup the Phenom II reached an amazing in excess speed of 5Ghz and boot speed of 6Ghz+

The main problem with overclocking processors is the insane temperatures they can reach. The Phenom II is well within safe temperatures that wont compromize the life and performance of the processor. I’ve seen some intel processors reach up to 100ºC!! So the Phenom is deffinately doing well for itself. And combine it with some of the new Radeon 4800 Graphics cards and an AMD 7 series chipset based motherboards, you’ll have one of the ultimate gaming/performance rigs out on the market.

Cray XT Jaguar - Worlds Fastest Super Computer

xt4-300x194 Cray XT Jaguar - Worlds Fastest Super Computer

Now the worlds fastest Super Computer - the Cray XT Jaguar pumps out an amazing 1.64 quadrillion mathematical calculations per second. That’s 1.64 petaflops. After a recent technological overhaul the Cray XT Jaguar is now powered by 45,000 quad-core AMD Opteron processors that use 362 Terabytes of memory (362000 gigabytes).

The Cray XT Jaguar is located at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory where it will hopefully create scientific breakthroughs during the day, and succumb to Crysis at night. It will be used for non classified research and has the capability to chew up an enormous 284 gigabytes of data per second. And its storage capacity is 750 terabytes!

Amazing - Pocket Projector

The Microvision Pico Projector - The ultimate accessory in portable viewing devices. The PicoP is an Ultra miniature projector capable of producing full colour, high-resolution images but still being small enough and low power enough to work with an accessory that it would connect to, like a Mobile device or an iPod.

accessory_thumb Amazing - Pocket Projector

An accessory Pico projector turns photos, videos, and other content into big viewing experiences that can be shared with others. Projected content is delivered to the accessory projector from common video out connections on cell phones, personal media players, laptops, digital cameras and other mobile devices. Accessory projectors leverage Microvision’s PicoP display engine which at its heart, contains Microvision’s patented MEMS scanner. Other technology components include, laser light sources, optics, and electronics. These components are brought to life using Microvision’s proprietary software and expertise.

I think this really is a great innovative piece of technology. Everything is getting smaller and smaller these days. Soon this projector might even be imbedded into a cellphone or laptop! Would that be amazing? The PicoP projector will be availiable sometime next year. Heres a nice video showing the PicoP in action:
