Capturing the screen could be one of the most important thing a webmaster would need. I use them a lot, mainly for capturing logo of the size i want and shrinking them and doing all kinds of things with them so i found out some software that you would be able to use to capture the screen.
You can use Gadwin PrintScreen, ScreenGrab 1.0, Screenshot Captor, MWSnap.
Gadwin PrintScreen
Want to create a screenshot suitable for saving or printing? Then just hit a key on your keyboard. Oh yeah, you’ll have to download this program first.
There are several hotkey combos to choose from (PrintScreen is the default). Once you’ve chosen your favorite combo, head to the Destination tab and have the screen print out instantly, copy the capture to the clipboard, save it to a specific folder, or even send it through e-mail. You can perform full screen captures, or only capture a specific window.
ScreenGrab
It is a simple, yet effective screen capture utility for Windows. When running, ScreenGrab responds to preset hotkey combinations, making it easy to make screen captures without having to click on buttons or use the mouse.
Screenshot Captor
It is a program for taking screenshots on your computer. It’s different from other screenshot utilis in several notable ways:
- Optimized for taking lots of screenshots with minimal intervention.
- Smart autonaming of files, and ability to embed textual comments in files.
- Good multi-monitor support.
- Highly configurable to make it work the way you want it to; stays out of your way in the system tray.
- Lots of capture modes: Multimon (multiple monitors), Desktop, Active Window, Region, Windows Object. Each mode has a hotkey for quick access.
- Unique Cool Effects, including automatic active window enhancement (see pictures below).
- Unsurpassed support for 3rd party user configurable tools, including file browsers and image editors; extend the program to do whatever you need by interfacing it with other programs.
- Slimline sidebar file browser provides full shell operations.
- Optional automatic image file versioning.
- Seamless integration with Unicode Image Maker tool.
– Automatically finds boundaries of non-rectangular/themed windows.
– Autoscroll capture for windows too big for screen.
– Deluxe thumbnail maker.
– Quick PostCapture PopUp Dialog.
– Quick Screenshot Emailer Menu.
MWSnap
It is a small yet powerful Windows program for snapping (capturing) images from selected parts of the screen.
Current version is capable of capturing the whole desktop, a highlighted window, an active menu, a control, or a fixed or free rectangular part of the screen. MWSnap handles 5 most popular graphics formats and contains several graphical tools: a zoom, a ruler, a color picker and a window spy. It can be also used as a fast picture viewer or converter.
MWSnap does not require installation and does not need any special dlls, drivers or system files which can mess up your system.
I would personally prefer MWSnap if you looking for a specific and a small program that is portable or if you are looking for some good function you can choose either Gadwin PrintScreen or Screenshot Captor.
Happy Screenshoting!
